When referring to the animal representing the birth year of an individual, there is a Chinese saying that “this is the animal that hides inside your heart.” Every twelve years, hundreds of thousands of babies are born during a Horse Year. Supposedly, these people will have dominating traits much like that of a horse. They are strong and beautiful. They are reliable, graceful, agile and fast. Pre-adolescent girls tape posters of them to their walls. There is however, a reason that the Chinese astrologers associate Horse personalities with outbursts and mood swings.
According to police reports, on Saturday, September 25, 2010, an Indianapolis Mounted Patrol Horse named Baker kicked a headlight out of a police cruiser before taking a hot steaming dump on the cruiser's hood. Baker’s behavior on Saturday was a remarkable, on point display of the dynamic and unpredictable nature of the animal which “lives in the heart” of the individuals born in the Year of the Horse. Recent and upcoming years falling under the Horse Year are 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, and 2014.
There is no reason to fear people born in these years. Not all of them are going to take a poo on the hood, or “bonnet” (if you drive a Jaguar),of your vehicle like Baker did. There are too many other dominating energies which will protect the Horse personality from being out-of-control on a daily basis. For example, the lunar month in which one was born, the day as well as the hour will have great impact on the life and personality of the “Horse”.

Sybil Leek
Yesterday I visited the beautiful public library in downtown Indianapolis. I love going there, it always raises my spirits. In browsing the section of outdated astrology books, I came upon a little marvel about a woman whom I had never heard of. Her name was Sybil Leek. The book was a biography called "My Life in Astrology - Star-Crossed Adventures, Professional Secrets and Case Histories." I was fascinated to learn how she had become such a successful astrologist while at the same time being an outspoken witch. The book was published in 1972 and it seems that a career which could be reflected upon at that time would have been greatly altered by being known as a witch. I can't wait to finish the book and tell all of you more about the career of the successful astrologist, witch, and author Sybil Leek.
